longing for length

My blog friend Lacey at Laptops to Lullabies brought up an interesting subject recently. Apparently there’s a trend in women to go out and get a drastic haircut while pregnant. Maybe it’s hormones, maybe it’s an internal desire for the “mom” haircut … who knows.
This made me think about my own personal hair struggles. I don’t know if its psychological — you know, we always want what we don’t have, right? After our wedding — and many long months of growing my hair to the perfect updo length — I got my hair chopped off. This is the picture I brought to the stylist that day:

I loved it at the time, but now, I am slooowwwly trying to grow it back out to pre-TomKat Katie style. It’s torture.

Can anybody give me some great hair-growing tips therapy to get through the awkward short-to-long phase?

  1. I am with you all the way on the whole growing out the hair drama. I have been wanting to grow mine out for awhile too, but just cannot seem to get past the horrible in between phase without giving up and chopping it off again. Good luck!

  2. Ugh. I cut mine off with no reason at all. It was right down past my waist and now after two years of trying to grow it, it's only just inching past my shoulders.Apparently, there's a Fructis Strong and Long and Pantene Beautiful Lengths that's supposed to help by reducing snapping and split ends. Also L'Oreal Kerastase do some tablets that you can take that make it grow longer and thicker…
